Army of Two Review

So Army of two on of my most anticipated games of 2007 has finally hit this week. This is a 3rd person co-operative game and when I say co-op I mean it. This is a game geared 100% for you and a buddy to be playing. But not everyone can play with someone all the time so the AI person will be your buddy or enemy in the game. You play as two mercenaries for hire named Salem and Rios. Both of these are badass military guys who know there shit and know how to execute it well. From the start you can shoose to play as either salem or rios as far as I know it doesnt matter who you pick since both control the same. The difference is in apperance and voice it looks like. I will walk you through the single player portion of this since no one really has this game yet. The AI is not as bad as I thought it be. Since I pretty much control the AI with the D-pad he does what I tell him. The only complaint is that since he's not a real person he wont always do the right thing. Like say were in a firefight and there are 4 guys in fron of us he wont always fire upon the closest guy or the guy shooting at the time. He will shoot at one of them almost to suppress fire for you to get them. Not that thats bad, its just when there is more guys its tougher since he doesnt always shoot well. Same for when you take off doors and use them as shields. Yes, you can rip off car doors and pick up other objects via riot shields or doors and use them while the AI follows shooting up fools. Unless he just doesnt shoot and the AI owns you. Thats preety much the only complaint I have against this game is the AI isnt the best. But thats not who you play this with. You play with a buddy. The controls themselves are pretty tight, they remind me of a lot of GEARS. The way you move and take cover are pretty close to gears as well as with the shooting. You can crouch and un as well as slide into cover wth the touch of a button. you have 3 weapons at your disposal right from the start which you can upgrade as well as buy new and better weapons from arms dealers. You have a primary (machine gun), secondary (sidearm handgun) and a special (sniper/rocket launcher) weapon as well as grenades to use to flush out enemies and destroy turrets. But thats not all you have a variety of mask to buy and wear as well as 3 types of armor (light, meadium, heavy). This is a pretty custom heavy game so you have to remember to customize your weapons as well as restock on some other items. I ran out of grenades quick so I try to save them, as well as use handgun when I can to save machine gun rounds. But the enemies will drop bags full of ammo you can pick up to replenish your own stash so your not always worrying about bullets just keep it in mind. visually the game looks good from the cutscenes to the ingame I havnt seen any type of mess up or clipping as of today, so im pretty impressed by what EA has done with there extra time with this game. So if your lookign for a great co-op game that ahs tons of guns and tons of killing AOT is right up your alley.

**multiplayer is not working as of yet since no one is online witht he game, but tonight ill try since more people were able to pick it up today since yesterday no one got this game.

so far im giving this game a B+, 6 missions is not very much for a game like this so lets hope multiplayer will raise this abit since DLC is on the way.

Ok so final on ARMY OF TWO for you guys. The wrap up is this is a decent game and the reviews have said that. mainly getting about 7-9 in the scoring range. The combat is cool and the interactivity within the game is amazing just liek the visuals. I like the way the game look and feels. It just a fun co-op game that seems to be popular but doesnt seem to be AD worthy popular. So its roughly 7-9 hours depending on diffuculty add a few hours more for hardest diff. Its 6 missions which some you willw ant to replay over cause there that good I think. Its basically as longer than Gears with a multiplayer as well. Multiplayer is diff. No deathmatch you do 3 diff. modes which you and a buddy compete against 2 others for merc money. You do events to gain cash and kill everyone. Its a diff. type of multiplayer and one that is actually kind of fun and I hear DLC is on the way very very soon. That makes me happy EA is up for supporting this game.

Gameplay/Game: A
Audio/Video: B+
Lenght: C
Bonus: B
overall: B

So if you like the gears style of combat and want a new 3rd person action shooter then check this one out and wiill glady play mercs with you online whenever, just ask me. It should be easy to rent this weekend so go for it and try it out, I say its worth a purchase simply for some of the cool factor this game offers.
