GRID Review - XB360

If you have played DIRT, codemasters rally racing driver you have played GRID. The difference is of course that this is more of a street version of the rally circuit as well as a drifting section to this game. Codemaster have improved on a number of things for this title that in my opinion make the game that much better or worse depending on your mood after the race. The detail to the cars and tracks is very nice with a clean crisp look to all of it. The same can be said about the damage to the vehicles themselves, it looks good and has real damage as if I was the one who really crashed this car. This of course can mess up your race if you fracture something major on your car. You can dent in the car enough in the front end that it literally makes you veer off to the left or the right and cause the race to be that much harder for you to control the game. This si not a bad thing its just frustrating when an AI car causes this incident. But there are ways to fix this issue, GRIS has a rewind feature that allows you to go back in time via prince of persia style and redo a turn or so that may have make or breaked the race itself. This of course also helps when you total the car so you dont have to restart the race completly, but you are limited on the number of times you can rewind so use wisely. Another thing I thought was cool is that the game has a list of prerecorded names for you to pick and the game will talk to you. I thought this was kind of cool, just nothing to shout about and buy this over. Overall GRID is a good racer sim but nothing in the means of Gran Turismo 5 or Forza standards. But if your into rally racing and want a unique type of game with a lot of cool features then definetly pick this game up.

Overall - B
