Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin Review

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin is the fourth game in the Advance Wars series of video games, preceded by Advance Wars: Dual Strike, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, and Advance Wars, The story in a nutshell is a meteor has struck us and has wiped out almost everything and everyone. You follow will who was buried in the mess hell at the miltary training facility and you are found by a group called the 12th battallion rubinelle armed forces (wolf pack). they take you in andfrom there you are going to look for survivors and such. I wont give away too much more story plot but thats the basic intro for it. So im about 2 or 3 hours into this game and I cant put it down at all. Im not a huge strategy fan but this game is so simple and easy to learn that its actually fun. As far as I know there arnt any items or such you use the stylus for. but I still got more to go and tonight ill play sme online so if you got the game give me a shout out ill check on here before I get online and well try to get together. But this is a must buy for fans and newcomers alike. The cutscenes are that of a atlus game where you have characters on either side of the screen and they light up when talking. The cutscenes dont seem to extend very long so there is not too much reading of text but heres to hoping we can upgrade t voice acting in the future for DS games. Speaking of characters the character designs as well are very cool. There typical of any war-time anime that you can watch now. These remind me of gundam esque characters with the uniforms and the haircuts. The graphics are detailed enough that you dont confuse a tank from a artillary tank or a infantry from a mech. They each have a dfferent style to them and have different animations to seperate each one. The gameplay is as I said earlier very simple its highlight a unit move it on its grid and attack if you can, some units have a move or attack option you cant do both with all of them. There is also a limitation to the movement of vehicles hince the gas meter located in the info hud. I havnt had any probems with this as of yet but im assuming later on you might need to move a bigger distance or somethng, thus why its there. The music is good but most of the time im playing there is noise around me so I had the sound off but ts typical DS music nothing too fancy. So overall I will be giving this a 5/5 simply because of the shure enjoyment I have been having ith this game for the past two days. Go pick it up this wek if you can or at least get it soon to join n on the online fun as well as the story elements which are entertaining.
