Ok guys so I got my hands on Super Smash Bros. Brawl and I must say its pretty good. Now ive had it for about 4 hours now and have played thrugh with a few characters and have tried online multiplay as well. All work very well and I dont see any bugs really that hurt the game. First things first, characters, pretty much all the new guys minus snake and sonic are playable from the start of the game. I wont list them all cause you can find that easily by looking in google. They all look very well done and polished. no more jagged edges on the characters from the N64 days everyone has been updated or is built updated with detail in mind. Now its no 360 or ps3 game but it does look good for a wii game, much like Super Mario Galaxy. Next lets go into controls. The wiimote controls are simple 1 and 2 attack d-pad moves and jumps and B blocks. The other buttons can do things as well but this is the basic setup for the game, simple and easy. I will be playing with the classic controller next so ill let you know how that is later. As far as navigating through the game its the same. The selection screen for the characters is the same you pick a coin and drop in on your guy and can change live amounts and color. Next you select a stage and then you go out and brawl. The stages are very good and all have some unique twist to them. the coolest one iI have played s far is the ice climbers stage where you skid down a muntain on a glacier rock so the world is tilted sideways sometimes, it was really cool and you had to pay attention to yourself as well as others. Lastly we can talk about visuals and sound. The visuals like I said loked good, especially since this game is on a DL disk (8.5gb). The levels are polished as are the characters and the way they both work together I saw no hickups or lag whatsoever. Sound is very cool with a ton of music scores this brings you back to some old school SSB. As well as reminds you of the classic games you played back in the day. The voices are in japanese of course but they sound good and all have there own set of tracks. Finally, ONLINE PLAY! Online is fun and seems to work well when you connect to a friend using the friend code system. No lag really as long as you have good connections, im assuming a direct connecton will be best since thats how it works with ps3 and 360. But the few rounds I tried over the quick match were ne to successful. This is b/c of the huge distace my game would carry to play others. So no worries im sure it will be fine when it hits here. I asked a few people how it was and they said its fine in japan just as long as you got good connectons then it works out great much like super maro strikers. So there you have it a look at SSBB for the wii, due out march 9, 2008.
